Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, has more than 3 million people.

The city center is very clean and modern.  Ho Chi Minh City is the economic center of Viet Nam, while  Hanoi is the capital city.

Large, beautiful boulevards.  A lot was built after the war.

Ho Chi Minh is the national hero of Viet Nam.  Pictures and sculptures of him are everywhere.

The people are very friendly.

This is an interesting temple building located next to the city museum.

I saw very few cars, but lots and lots of . . .

. . . motorcycles, mopeds and scooters.  They are the main mode of transport and they're everywhere.
